Dot SAMPLEs
We often express ourselves in the most clear and concise ways, such as sharing an article on Facebook. Thus, isn’t the act of making a choice a beautiful art in itself? Dot SAMPLEs is a series that utilizes a method used by insect collectors that seals bugs with translucent acrylic. Here, illustrations characteristic of contemporary artists have been collected and sealed in acrylic with the same method.

Concept
People can collect and save an infinite archive of .mp3, .jpg, .mov and such files onto their hard-drives and online. Just as collectors can preserve insects in plastic, I am preserving graphic art. Original works are quickly archived and sampled. I’m a collector, and through archiving and accumulating I have created these pieces. (2012)
