Exhibition Plastic Painting
Plastic Painting は、2014年7月18から30日まで代官山Gallery Speak For で行われた個展である。 2012年から制作された、Plastic Painting, Dot SAMPLEsシリーズに加え新作 Plastic Relief の3シリーズが展示された。

GALLERY SPEAK FOR is pleased to announce solo exhibition of “Plastic Painting” by Masato Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi, who has been engaged in several art projects as art director for music video for musician, web graphic and visual identity for corporations. He has established a reputation with his clean and sharp design control, with media mix approach which arouse profound feelings for modern people, and with his unique visual richness way of communication method. While at the same time, from 2012, Yamaguchi started his unique creative style of art series with recognizing the power of contemporary arts. Unveiled his “Plastic Painting”. Concept of Plastic Painting is “superficial ( = plastic ) art”, it is printed on clear plastic board with precisely-tuned by multiple lap over, boning and forming, and it is transformed to three-dimensional art. His art is inspired from aesthetic motif of popular contemporary artists, such as Damien Hirst, Yayoi Kusama, Bridget Riley, and remixed and transformed to his style. “Although it is isolated from the history, Modern society superficially ties information and culture.”,Yamaguchi said, “Plastic Paintings express symbolic of synthetics, yet classical and beautiful. This is Mr. Yamaguchi’s first solo exhibition. The exhibition consists of 3 elements. “DotSAMPLEs”,” DotSAMPLEs” : they are constructed with circularly-aligned plastics which imprinted graphics, and “Plastic Releaf”: the new series, which use laser cutter for engrave plastic board. We will future 30 items of Mr. Yamaguchi’s art selection in the exhibition. Also introducing accessories, (necklaces, earrings), and original t-shirts, they are made by same method of his art work.
ミュージシャンのPVやwebグラフィック、企業VIなどの分野でアートディレクションを手がけてきた山口真人氏。クリーンでエッジーなデザインコントロール、同時代者たちの感性の核心を突きうるミックスメディアな仕掛けや、コンセプチュアルな楽しさに満ちたビジュアル話法に定評があります。2012年より、現代アートの強いコミュニケーション力に着目し、独自のアートシリーズを制作し始め海外のアートフェアでも高い評価を得てきました。「見せかけ（＝Plastic）の絵画」をコンセプトにしたそれらの作品群は、透明なプラスチック板にグラフィックをプリントし精密に張り合わせたり、成型・再構成する手法で制作される立体作品です。ダミアン・ハーストや草間弥生、ブリジット・ライリーらの現代アートをモチーフにしたリミックスアートで、「歴史から切り離されて表層的に情報や文化がつながっていく現代社会」を、グラフィカルで美しい佇まいに輝く人工素材の結晶に表徴してみせています。本展では、プラスチックにグラフィックを密着し円形を基本単位として造形する「DotSAMPLEs」や「Plastic Painting」シリーズに加え、プラスチックの板にレーザーカッターで彫刻する新シリーズ「Plastic Relief」の3種から、自薦の約30点（全て1点もの）を展示・販売いたします。山口真人氏の世界観を存分に味わうことのできる「Plastic Painting」展に、是非ご期待ください。
